Some responses to your questions:

re: footnotes/tags | I laboriously undid footnotes for tags when I discovered the bug. The footnotes looked like ‘[^#tag]’. They fixed the crashing, but I had switched to tags like ‘+tag’ instead. I often string a list together at the bottom of a note like ‘tags: +something +another-thing +yet-another-thing’.

Typora search is excellent for simple text strings, but would be better with regular expressions support. I would like to find all notes with ‘+economics’ and ‘+platform-capitalism’ which I can’t do at present.

I’ve been thinking about creating a small auxiliary search tool that would accomplish that, as well as supporting searches for tasks. For example, I’d like to be able to find all incomplete tasks for the gigaom project like this ‘- [ ] gigaom’ but limited to those marked with the tag ‘+soon’, for example.

I might make a prototype in Terminal on my mac for a few of these searches using a shell like bsh.
